You can’t say that Mallory Meyer didn’t know what she was getting into when she came to work for Indiana Farm Bureau in January. After all, she had interned with Farm Bureau for two summers – 2016 and 2017.

As an intern, her main responsibility was helping INFB with its presence at the Indiana State Fair, particularly in the Farm Bureau building. She will still help out to some degree with the fair but now that she’s a full-time employee, that isn’t her main responsibility.

“My job is to support the county Farm Bureaus in planning and promotion of events and assist with other marketing needs they may have,” Meyer said. “I can provide individualized advice and guidance for county Farm Bureaus so they are able to reach their specific goals through marketing.”

Invitations to policy development and third house meetings, email invites, social media posts and county membership banners are among the pieces that Meyer plans to provide.

She also is in the process of creating “toolkits” – that is, packages of resources such as templates for news releases and social media posts, flyers, invitations and activity ideas – for key program areas such as Ag Day, county fairs, rural road safety and the INFB Book of the Year program. The Ag Day toolkit was completed and released earlier this month.

“County Farm Bureau leaders are able to receive more individualized support, advice and expertise than they’ve had access to in the past,” she said.

Meyer graduated from Purdue University in December with a bachelor’s degree in animal sciences/animal agribusiness. She lives in Columbus – her hometown – and her hobbies include photography, scrapbooking and crafting.
