Hoosier farmers deserve leaders who understand and advocate for agriculture. That’s why we help guide, train, and back candidates who share our commitment to the land, rural communities, and the future of farming.
Indiana Farm Bureau operates two nonpartisan Political Action Committees (PACs) – ELECT (federal) and AgELECT (state-level) – to empower candidates who champion agricultural priorities. By pooling contributions, these PACs fund campaign essentials like mailers, ads, and grassroots outreach to help ag-friendly candidates win elections.
But our PACs are not just supporting candidates - we're building a pipeline of leaders who understand the critical roles of farming and agriculture in our ever-changing world.
By contributing to these PACs – whether you're a farmer, supporter, or local leader – you help ensure the agricultural community has trusted representation wherever decisions are made.
AgELECT is the Indiana state political action committee of Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc. Contributions to AgELECT are used for state political purposes and are entirely voluntary. Contributions to AgELECT are not tax deductible. State law requires AgELECT to report the name and mailing address of any contributor whose total contribution exceeds $100 during a calendar year. Unless otherwise specified or unless the contribution exceeds $2,000, 30% of a corporation’s contribution to AgELECT shall be designated to Indiana State Senate candidates and 70% of a corporation’s contribution to AgELECT shall be designated to Indiana State House of Representatives candidates. All corporate contributions greater than $2,000 must be earmarked according to the instructions of the corporation. It is a corporation’s responsibility to ensure it does not exceed the state’s political contribution limits. A corporation can make a total annual contribution of $2,000 to candidates for state Senate and $2,000 to candidates for state House of Representatives. Subchapter S corporations are subject to the corporate giving limitations. Contributions made by individuals, LLCs, sole proprietorships, or partnerships shall be designated to the general fund of AgELECT and are not limited in amount by state law.

As one participant shared:
“Honing down my message to something that’s easy for the voters to understand… getting it down to something simple will make me a better candidate.”
