Many students are disconnected from where their food comes from. Indiana Farm Bureau’s Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) program equips teachers and volunteers with engaging, standards-based lessons so kids understand Indiana agriculture and feel a personal connection with the farmers who feed the world.
AITC is facilitated by Indiana Farm Bureau and coordinated nationwide by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, ensuring trusted, accurate, and nonpartisan agricultural education.

Before getting started as an Ag in the Classroom volunteer, INFB members must complete a simple orientation, participate in a workshop and sign a code of conduct form. Then, after an Ag in the Classroom lesson, we appreciate you submitting a simple presentation report.
There is no set time commitment or level of education and experience required. You may work with schools and/or youth organizations (e.g., Scouts, 4-H Clubs, etc.) in your community. You also may be asked to facilitate hands-on activities on agricultural topics that fit your knowledge base.
Are you interested in becoming a registered Agriculture in the Classroom volunteer? Training and orientation sessions are scheduled on an as-needed basis in your county or Farm Bureau district. Email inaitc@infb.org to learn more.
