Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc. Privacy Policy

 

Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc., including its affiliated companies (collectively, the “Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), respects your privacy, and we are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This policy describes how we collect, process, retain, and disclose Personal Information about you when providing services to you through our websites, desktop and mobile applications, products, and services that link to this policy (collectively, the “Services”) and our practices for using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

 

This policy applies only to information we collect through the Services or in communications, including email, text, chat, and other electronic messages, between you and the Services. It does not apply to information collected by us through any other means, including on any other website operated by the Company or any third party that does not link to this policy, or any third party, including through any application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from or through the Services.

 

We may provide additional or different privacy policies that are specific to certain features, services, or activities.

 

Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we treat it. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

The types and categories of Personal Information we may collect or process include:

 

  • Account and contact information, including name, address, email address, phone number, username, and other contact information you provide us.
  • Payment information, including credit card or debit card information and information about the payment methods and services (such as PayPal or Venmo) you use in connection with the Services.
  • Account history, including information about your subscription, account, transactions, purchases, order history, or discounts.
  • Demographic information, including your age, gender, income level, education, or family or marital status, if you have consented to such information collection.
  • Location information, including general geographic location such as country, state or province, or city and precise geolocation, if you have enabled and consented to location information collection.
  • Device information, including your IP address, device identifiers, operating system and version, preferred language, hardware identifiers, browser type and settings, and other device information.
  • Content and information you elect to provide as part of your profile.
  • Images, voice recordings, and videos collected or stored in connection with the Services, if you have consented to such information collection.
  • Identity document information, such as Social Security and driver’s license numbers, if you have consented to such information collection.
  • Biometric information, such as fingerprints, faceprints, and voiceprints, iris or retina scans, keystroke, gait, or other physical patterns, and sleep, health, or exercise data, if you have consented to such information collection.

 

Some of the information identified above, including identification document information, precise geolocation information, and biometric information may be considered sensitive data under certain laws. If required under applicable law, we will collect and process sensitive Personal Information only with your consent. If you choose not to provide or allow us to collect some information, we may not be able to provide you with requested features, services, or information.

 

We may also collect:

 

  • Statistics or aggregated information. Statistical or aggregated data does not directly identify a specific person, but we may derive non-personal statistical or aggregated data from Personal Information. For example, we may aggregate Personal Information to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific Services feature.
  • Technical information. Technical information includes information about your internet connection and usage details about your interactions with the Services, such as clickstream information to, through, and from our Services (including date and time), products that you view or search for; page response times, download errors, length of your visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), or methods used to browse away from a page.

 

If we combine or connect non-personal statistical or technical data with Personal Information so that it directly or indirectly identifies an individual, we treat the combined information as Personal Information.

You Provide Information to Us

 

We collect information about you when you interact with our Services, such as when you create or update an account, place an order, subscribe, make a request, participate in surveys, sweepstakes, contests, or promotions, or create, upload, or post content to the Services, including reviews or media such as photos, videos, or audio recordings.

 

Automatically Through Our Services

 

As you navigate through and interact with our Services, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect information that may include Personal Information. Information collected automatically may include usage details, IP addresses, operating system, and browser type, and information collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies including details of your interactions with our Services, such as traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data, and which resources and Services features that you access and use.

 

We may use these automatic collection technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across third-party sites or other online services (behavioral tracking). Using automatic collection technologies helps us to improve our Services and to deliver a better and more personalized experience. The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:

 

  • Cookies. A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you interact with the Services. You may refuse to accept or disable cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser or device. However, if you select this setting, you may be unable to access certain features of the Services.
  • Web Beacons. Some parts of the Services and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit the Company, for example, to count users who have visited those parts or opened an email and for other related statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain content and verifying system and server integrity).

 

To the extent any of these automated technologies are considered a Personal Information sale, targeted advertising, or profiling, under applicable laws, depending on where you live, you may opt out from use of these automated technologies for such uses by emailing us at privacy@infb.org. Please note that some Services features may be unavailable as a result.

 

When you interact with the Services, there are third parties that may use automatic collection technologies to collect information about your or your device. These third parties may include:

 

  • Advertisers, ad networks, and ad servers.
  • Analytics companies.
  • Your device manufacturer.
  • Your internet or mobile service provider.

 

These third parties may use tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use the Services. The information they collect may be associated with your Personal Information or they may collect information, including Personal Information, about your online activities over time and across different websites, apps, platforms, and other online services. They may use this information to provide you with interest-based (behavioral) advertising or other targeted content.

 

We do not control these third parties’ tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly.

 

From Business Partners and Service Providers

 

We may receive Personal Information about you from other sources and combine that with information we collect directly from you. For example, we may obtain information about you from service providers that we engage to perform services on our behalf, such as email platform providers, content delivery services, payment processors, promotions services, gift card program providers, analytics, security and anti-fraud services, and data brokers. We also may receive Personal Information from business partners that we engage to share consumer information with us, including your personal preferences and demographic information such as age, gender, and income level so that we can better provide you with a personalized experience, including personalized content, offers and services.

 

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

 

We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any Personal Information, to:

 

  • Provide you with the Services and any contents, features, information, products, or services that we make available through the Services.
  • Fulfill and manage subscriptions, purchases, orders, deliveries, payments, returns, and exchanges.
  • Fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it.
  • Provide you with notices about your account, including expiration and renewal notices.
  • Improve our Services, including by analyzing your information and creating aggregated data derived from your information) to develop, maintain, analyze, improve, optimize, measure, and report on our Services and their features and how users interact with them.   • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss, or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual fraudulent or illegal activity. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of data protection and security, fraud prevention, and risk reduction; or
  • To any subsequent owner, co-owner or successor-in-interest of the Company, or in connection with a merger, consolidation, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of the Company’s assets, ownership interest or both, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which Personal Information held by the Company about its users is among the assets transferred. Under such circumstances, we would, to the extent possible, require the acquiring party to follow the practices described in this policy, as it may be amended from time to time. Nevertheless, we cannot ensure that an acquiring company or the merged company will have the same privacy practices or treat your information the same as described in this policy.

 

INFORMATION FROM MINORS

 

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 13 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 13 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Services. If we learn that Personal Information from users less than 13 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. YOUR CHOICES ABOUT YOUR INFORMATION

 

We provide you with choices regarding the Personal Information you provide to us. However, please note that account holders must agree to opt in to communications from us, in order to access and use certain Services, specifically for purposes of marketing and other features related to providing the Services.

 

  • Email Opt-Out. You can opt out of receiving marketing communications by sending an email to privacy@infb.org. This opt-out does not apply to communications that we send regarding business or financial transactions.

     

  • Reviewing, Updating, and Modifying Personal Information. Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to and receive details about you and update and correct inaccuracies in your Personal Information. We do not have to act on a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

 

If you have previously engaged in employment using the Services, certain employment-related information may be retained. This retention is required for us to comply with legal requirements and is independent of your account status. Such information includes, but is not limited to, employment application records, background check results, and any other data pertinent to your employment application process. The retention of this data is governed by applicable laws and regulations, which requires retention for a period of seven years, and is maintained independent of your account, which will be closed.

 

SECURITY PROCEDURES

 

We take commercially reasonable precautions to help protect and secure your Personal Information from accidental loss and unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. We do not, however, guarantee that accidental, unauthorized, or inadvertent disclosure will not ever occur. You understand, acknowledge, and agree that you transmit your Personal Information to us at your own risk. Consent for SMS Communications: If you grant consent to receive SMS communications from us, the information obtained as part of the SMS consent process will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes.


Types of SMS Communications: If you have consented to receive text messages from us, you may receive text messages related to: Shifts and approvals, information related to customer requests, and other similar issues or conversations.


Message Frequency: Our SMS message frequency will vary depending on your inquiry regarding the services we provide to you.


Potential Fees for SMS Messaging: Many carriers charge a fee for each message sent or received. This can vary depending on the carrier’s pricing structure and whether the message is sent domestically or internationally.


Opt-In Method: You may opt in for SMS messaging from us through intake forms located on our website. This agreement for SMS will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes.


Opt-out: You may opt out of SMS messaging from us by replying STOP at any time to any received SMS message. Once opted-out, you will receive no further SMS communication. You may, however, opt back in at any time by replying START to any SMS message.

GOVERNING LAW

 

The Services are offered for and are only to be used in the United States. If you are uncertain whether this Privacy Policy conflicts with the applicable local privacy laws where you are located, you should not submit your Personal Information to us. If you are located in a country outside the United States and voluntarily submit Personal Information to us in any manner whatsoever, you hereby consent to the general use of such information as provided in this Privacy Policy, as well as to the transfer of that information to, and/or storage of that information in, the United States.

Non-Discrimination:


We will not discriminate against you because you exercise your rights under the CCPA or CPRA. For example, we will not deny you access to the Services, charge you a different price or rate for services, or provide a different quality of service if you make an access, deletion, or do not sell request.

 


Your Rights under the CCPA and CPRA:

 

You have the right to make the following requests no more than twice in a 12-month period:

 

  1. Request that we disclose the following information:

     

    • Categories of Personal Information that we collected about you during the preceding 12 months;

  2. Deletion Request: Request that we delete Personal Information that it collected from you, with the exception of Personal Information that we must maintain for reasons permitted under the CCPA.

     

  3. Do Not Sell My Info: Request that we opt you out of the sale of your Personal Information.

If you are a California resident and have an established business relationship with us, you can request a notice disclosing the categories of Personal Information we have shared with third parties, for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes, during the preceding twelve months. To request a notice, please submit your request to privacy@infb.org. Please allow sixty days for a response.

 

If you are a California resident under 18 years old, you can request that we remove content or information that you have posted to the Services. Note that fulfilment of the request may not ensure complete or comprehensive removal (e.g., if the content or information has been reposted by another user). The Regulated States’ CDPAs do not include a natural person acting in a commercial or employment context within the definition of a “consumer.” Similarly, “Personal Information” generally means any information that is linked or reasonably linkable to an identified or identifiable natural person but does not include de-identified data or publicly available information. “Sale of Personal Information” means the exchange of Personal Information for monetary consideration. If this definition of “consumer” applies to you, we must adhere to certain rights and obligations regarding your Personal Information.


Your rights with respect to your Personal Information


Generally, the CDPAs in the Regulated States give consumers the following rights:


  • Right to be informed whether or not we are processing your Personal Information
  • Right to access your Personal Information
  • Right to correct inaccuracies in your Personal Information
  • Right to request deletion of your Personal Information
  • Right to obtain a copy of the Personal Information you previously shared with us
  • Right to opt out of the processing of your Personal Information if it is used for targeted advertising, the sale of Personal Information, or profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects (“profiling”)

 

We have not sold any Personal Information to third parties for business or commercial purposes  and will not sell Personal Information in the future belonging to website visitors, users, and other consumers.

 

Exercise your rights provided under the Regulated States’ CDPAs

If you are using an authorized agent to exercise your rights, we may deny a request if the authorized agent does not submit proof that they have been validly authorized to act on your behalf.

 

Verification process

 

We may request that you provide additional information reasonably necessary to verify you and your consumer’s request. If you submit the request through an authorized agent, we may need to collect additional information to verify your identity before processing your request. Upon receiving your request, we will respond without undue delay, but in all cases, within forty-five  days of receipt. The response period may be extended once by forty-five additional days when reasonably necessary. We will inform you of any such extension within the initial 45-day response period, together with the reason for the extension.


Right to appeal

 

If we decline to take action regarding your request, we will inform you of our decision and reasoning behind it. If you wish to appeal our decision, please email us at privacy@infb.org. Within sixty days of receipt of an appeal, we will inform you in writing of any action taken or not taken in response to the appeal, including a written explanation of the reasons for the decisions. If your appeal if denied, you may contact the authorities in your state’s CDPA to submit a complaint.
