Fruit and Vegetable Field Day
The annual Fruit and Vegetable Field Day is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 16 at Meigs Horticulture Research Farm, 9101 S. 100 E. in Lafayette. The event features educational sessions on cutting-edge research, including high tunnel production systems, pollinator management, soil health strategies and innovative weed and pest control methods, among others. This event offers fruit and vegetable growers a valuable opportunity to learn about the latest Purdue research, network with fellow producers and discover practical solutions to enhance their operations.
Small Farm Education Field Day
The hands‑on learning event focuses on applied research and demonstrations relevant to small‑scale and urban farming systems to improve the productivity and sustainability of their operations. The field day, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 23 at Purdue Student Farm, 1491 Cherry Lane in West Lafayette, will feature Purdue specialists and educators sharing research‑based practices and practical tools in a field setting. Hands-on demonstrations and presentations will include topics on flower production, high tunnel production and management, integrated pest management, food safety, and vertical container farming, among others.
