Dr. Maria Marshall, professor of agricultural economics at Purdue University, received the Frederick L. Hovde Award of Excellence in Educational Service to Rural People of Indiana.
The award is presented by the Purdue College of Agriculture with the support of INFB. It is given annually to Purdue faculty or a staff member to recognize outstanding educational contributions to the well-being and progress of rural Indiana and to encourage continued achievement and service.
Marshall conducts an applied research, teaching, and Extension program in small and family business management, disaster recovery, and entrepreneurship. She is the director of the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development and is also the director and founder of the Purdue Institute for Family Business.
