AITC workshops planned for June

Apr 1, 2021, 10:10 AM by Kathleen M. Dutro, INFB Marketing Team

A series of workshops for educators as well as Indiana Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom volunteers will be held on several days from June 1-9.

According to INFB ag education coordinator Lindi Kocher, INFB is making plans for both in-person and virtual events, just in case.

“Plan A is for the workshops to take place in person with appropriate safety measures in place,” she said. “Plan B is to offer the workshops virtually.”

The specific dates for the workshops are June 1, 2, 7 and 9. Locations and times will be announced once a decision has been made on whether they can be held in person, but they will be held at locations scattered around the state, Kocher said.

In either case, different material will be presented at each workshop, so volunteers can plan on attending more than one, she explained.

In addition to offering information for volunteers, the workshops also are designed for preschool through high school educators who wish to expand their curriculum to include topics related to agriculture.

The workshops provide Professional Growth Plan (PGP) points for teachers. At each location, 8 PGP points will be offered for a total of 32 possible points.

For more information, contact Kocher at lkocher@infb.org or 317-692-7870. Information will also be posted soon on INFB’s website, www.infb.org/events. Registration will open in late April.
