Chism named chair of the Agriculture Council of America

Jul 23, 2018, 14:13 PM by Molly Zentz, Marketing Team

Isabella Chism, INFB 2nd vice president and chair of the Women’s Leadership Committee, was recently named chair of the Agriculture Council of America (ACA) for 2018-2019.

Chism represents the American Farm Bureau Federation on the board and serves alongside other agriculture business leaders including individuals from the National FFA Foundation, Growmark Inc., Corteva Agriscience, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and others.

Most notably, the ACA, a national non-profit organization, coordinates National Ag Day – identifying themes, planning events and organizing a national promotional campaign.

“I am looking forward to working with leaders in the agriculture – food and fiber – community to plan and execute National Ag Day 2019,” said Chism. “Our goal is to increase public awareness of agriculture's vital role in our society through contests and social media campaigns, all culminating with our events in our nation’s capital on March 19, 2019.”

The new vice chair is Greg Horstmeier with DTN/The Progressive Farmer, and Cyndee Smiley of John Deere was elected to serve as the secretary and treasurer.

Outside of her role with INFB, Chism also serves as vice chair for the AFBF Women’s Leadership Committee.
