ELECT, AgELECT endorse candidates for 2018 primaries

Apr 30, 2018, 15:45 PM by Kathleen M. Dutro, Marketing Team

American Flag_ELECT, AgELECT endorsementAgELECT, Indiana Farm Bureau’s state political action committee, and ELECT, the organization’s federal PAC, have endorsed candidates in a total of 17 primary races.

Because Indiana Farm Bureau’s PACs are grassroots-driven, an endorsement signifies that a candidate has made it through the multi-step process needed to gain the organization’s support.

Listed below are the candidates ELECT and AgELECT have endorsed. In most races, one candidate received the endorsement, while in others (particularly those in which many candidates are running), two or more candidates were endorsed.

At the federal level from Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT:

Four primary candidates were endorsed for Congressional District 4: Steve Braun (R), James Baird (R), Diego Morales (R) and Tobi Beck (D).

At the state level from Indiana Farm Bureau AgELECT:

AgELECT endorsed candidates in one Indiana Senate race and 17 Indiana House races.

Indiana Senate: Travis Holdman (R), Senate District 19.

Indiana House: Carolyn B. Jackson (D), House District 1; Earl Harris Jr. (D), House District 2; Mara Candelaria Reardon (D), House District 12; Jack Jordan (R), House District 17; David Wolkins (R), House District 18; Curt Nisly (R), House District 22; J.D. Prescott (R) and Jenae Horn Blasdel (R), both House District 33.

Beau Baird (R), House District 44; Christy Stutzman (R), House District 49; Mark Bacon (R), House District 55; Dick Hamm (R) and Bradford Barrett (R), both House District 56; Joe Lannan (D) and Shane Lindauer (R), both House District 63; Bruce W. Ungethiem (R), House District 64; Steve Davisson (R), House District 73; and Steve Bartels (R), House District 74.

ELECT and AgELECT trustees will be meeting this spring and summer to determine their endorsements for the general election in November.
