INFB President
INFB Vice President
INFB Second Vice President
INFB Chief Operating Officer

RANDY KRON

President

Randy Kron of Evansville has been president of Indiana Farm Bureau since 2016. Prior to that, he served for 14 years as the organization’s vice president. In 2020, Kron was elected to the American Farm Bureau Federation board of directors, representing the Midwest region.

His other positions within Farm Bureau include serving as director of INFB District 9, which covers Posey, Gibson, Pike, Vanderburgh, Warrick, Dubois, Spencer, Orange, Crawford, and Perry counties. He also was Vanderburgh County Farm Bureau president and vice president, as well as chairman of the Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT Oversight Committee.

Like many Farm Bureau leaders, his first involvement was as Young Farmer representative to his county board. Kron served on the State Young Farmer Committee in 1986 and 1987. In 1989, he and his wife, Joyce, were the winners of the state Young Farmer Achievement Award.

A graduate of Purdue University, Kron holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics. In 2023, he received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the university.

He and Joyce farm with their son, Ben, near Evansville, raising yellow corn, white corn, soybeans, and wheat.  In 2021, Randy and Joyce were recipients of the Indiana Master Farmer Award which honors farmers who have contributed heavily to Indiana agriculture and demonstrated success in farming efficiency, stewardship of natural resources and community service.

Kron also is involved in other agriculture industry groups, including serving as INFB’s representative on the U.S. Grains Council, on the board of directors of the Indiana Grain Indemnity Corporation, and as a member of U.S. Rep. Larry Bucshon’s agricultural advisory committee.

Kron continues to serve his community on the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Area Plan Commission. He previously served as Armstrong Township trustee and was a member of the Indiana Department of Transportation’s I-69 steering committee. He is a past president of the Vanderburgh County Extension Board.

In addition to son Ben, Kron and his wife have a daughter, Tori, son-in-law Daniel, and two grandchildren, Eli and Blair. The Krons are elders of Salem Church of Darmstadt.
