The Volunteer of the Year Award honors an Ag in the Classroom educator who has gone above and beyond for the program in educating the public about the important role agriculture plays in our everyday lives.
The 2025 recipient is Colleen Holman of Steuben County. An AITC volunteer for more than 15 years, she has taught hundreds of lessons covering topics from soybeans, pork, dairy and corn to home gardening. Holman is involved with after-school programs at two elementary schools.
Her passion for children, education and agriculture has made her an outstanding Ag in the Classroom volunteer, and Holman continues to be a great representative of Indiana Farm Bureau within her community.
Holman was presented with the award in December during the Indiana Ag Gathering in French Lick.
