(Indianapolis) – Feb. 10, 2025 – Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans, a suite of more affordable health care offerings, announced it has nearly 5,000 active plans in place as of January 2025 – a growth of about 14% from January 2024. The plans, which are a product of Indiana Farm Bureau, now cover more than 10,300 lives.

The Indianapolis area and surrounding counties have the greatest number of plans, with Marion and Hamilton counties having the most plans out of any counties in the state. For example, Marion County saw a nearly 40% increase in plans from year-end 2023 to year-end 2024. Many other counties surrounding Indianapolis, including Hendricks, Johnson, Morgan and Hancock counties had impactful increases from last year as well.

INFB Health Plans also saw growth in other metro areas of the state, including the Chicagoland region (Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties), Terre Haute (Vigo County) and Evansville (Vanderburgh County).

Additionally, INFB Health Plans continued to grow in rural areas, such as Floyd and Spencer counties, each with an increase of over 50% since 2023, and Kosciusko and Delaware counties, each with an increase of 30%.

“We are pleased with the progress of INFB Health Plans as we start the new year,” said Steve Allen, INFB Health Plans manager. “INFB Health Plans was created to provide our members with more affordable, reliable health care, and we are finding that the need is bigger than just in the agriculture community. Many Hoosiers are looking for affordable health care whether they are in the city, suburbs or in rural areas.”

Chris Burgei, a small business owner in Hamilton County, switched to a traditional plan and dental/vision coverage through INFB Health Plans from private insurance. As a small business owner, he found that making the change was cost effective and still offered a wide choice of in-network providers via UnitedHealthcare.

“I’m thrilled with the choice of providers through INFB Health Plans,” said Burgei. “I’m saving close to $1,000 a month, have much better coverage and a lower deductible than I had with my previous provider.”
