(Indianapolis) – May 19, 2022 – In a recent survey of Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans members, 94% said they would recommend INFB Health Plans to a friend or family member.  The survey was conducted in order to learn more about the experiences of Hoosiers enrolled in INFB Health Plans.

The survey also revealed that over 70% of current members are very satisfied with the choice of health care providers in their plan. INFB Health Plans utilize the extensive UnitedHealth Care Choice Plus network for hospitals and doctors, giving customers many options to choose from.

When it came to new members, 85% said they felt well-guided and communicated with throughout the application process. Additionally, 74% of new members reported learning about the offerings from a current INFB member or their Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance agent.

Across both new and current members, the majority of respondents reported affordability, the availability of in-network providers and the fact the health care offering was backed by Indiana Farm Bureau as the top three reasons they joined INFB Health Plans.*

Two different surveys were conducted and distributed to plan holders in April – one to current members who have been enrolled in INFB Health Plans for more than six months, and another to new members who have been enrolled for six months for less.

The survey asked new members questions ranging from why they chose their plan to their overall customer experience during the application process. Current members were asked about their overall satisfaction in regard to customer service, handled claims and current providers.

“We always welcome feedback from our plan holders,” said Patrick Williams, INFB Health Plans manager. “Hearing directly from them provides us with fundamental insights on what is most important to members who are new to INFB Health Plans, as well as how we can best serve our current customers.

“Over half of new members surveyed reported joining INFB to be eligible for INFB Health Plans, which just shows that affordable, reliable health care is important to the ag community,” Williams added.

From Jan. 1, 2021, through April 30, 2022, enrollment in INFB Health Plans totaled 2,610 enrolled plans. That equates to nearly 6,000 Indiana lives covered. The current breakdown of coverage for those plan holders includes:

  • 2,089 Traditional Health Plans, which includes both individual and family plans;
  • 384 dental and vision plans; and
  • 137 Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans.

Hamilton and Marion counties have the most active plans, with more than 100 plans issued in each county.
