U.S. farmers and ranchers are attempting to cope with a devastating assortment of disasters including wildfires in the West, Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana, and Hurricane Irma in Puerto Rico and Florida as well as other southeastern states.

It’s difficult to keep track of them all. Florida Farm Bureau estimates that from 50 percent to 90 percent of Florida’s citrus crop has been lost. Puerto Rico Farm Bureau President Hector Cordero said nearly one-third of crops were lost because of the storm. In Montana, ranchers are coping with drought and dense clouds of smoke in addition to wildfires, according to MFB President Hans McPherson.

Texas Farm Bureau has established a Hurricane Harvey relief fund, proceeds of which will be distributed via an application process directly to farmers and ranchers located in counties that have been designated as disaster areas by the federal government.
