New health plans to offer options for members

Aug 3, 2020, 14:52 PM by Kathleen M. Dutro, INFB Marketing Team

In order for a health care plan to be useful, flexibility is important so that people can choose the coverages they need. That’s why members who apply for coverage through Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans will have four plans to choose from:

  • Advanced Choice – A plan for families or individuals, the Advanced Choice plan includes limited dental and vision benefits. It also offers a choice of two different deductible amounts.
  • Classic Choice – Available for individuals only, Classic Choice is for those who are looking for a health plan with preventative health, dental and vision benefits.
  • Major Medical – This plan offers catastrophic protection with the advantage of a lower premium. It provides benefits for physician services, hospitalization, prescription drugs and more and is available for individuals or families.
  • High Deductible Health Plan (HSA-qualified) – A range of High Deductible Health Plans will be offered, all of which meet the federal requirements necessary to open a Health Savings Account (HSA).

INFB Health Plans’ Traditional Health Plans utilize the UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus network of providers. Anyone who has been a member of INFB for at least 30 days and who is under 65 years of age can apply for the plans.  There will be separate Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans for members 65 and older.

Each plan has different terms depending on whether you choose to use in-network or out-of-network providers, and they require medical underwriting that may affect eligibility and rates. All plans are underwritten by Members Health Insurance Company.

INFB Health Plans has partnered with United Health Services, a third party administrator, to help ensure claims are paid correctly, health care costs can be kept to a minimum and members can focus on their well-being.

INFB Health Plans also will offer Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier, a combined dental and vision plan designed to meet your needs no matter your age.

The program will officially roll out on Sept. 1, sign-up begins Oct. 1, and benefits will take effect Jan. 1, 2021. An Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans website will be launched on Sept. 1, as will a dedicated toll-free number. Members who prefer to talk to someone local will be able to walk into any county Farm Bureau office and find agents and marketing associates who have been trained to answer questions about the plans.
