Faces of Farm Bureau: introducing Marissa Mikel, regional manager

Aug 5, 2019, 00:00 AM by Olivia Zingraf, Marketing Team

MikelMarissaMarissa Mikel joined the Indiana Farm Bureau staff in May to serve as regional manager for Elkhart, Lake, LaPorte, Porter, Starke and St. Joseph counties.

In this position, Mikel will act as a liaison between the home office and counties to ensure members receive support for their needs. Mikel will provide resources to connect county members, hoping to foster an open community among her regional territories.

Prior to Farm Bureau, Mikel worked for the Indiana House of Representatives as a legislative assistant. She also interned for two years with INFB’s public policy team before landing her role as regional manager.

“I love being able to help members see the impact their agricultural contributions have on their community,” said Mikel.

Mikel graduated from Purdue University with a degree in agricultural economics. She and her husband, Cy, have been married since June 2018. Mikel can be found riding and training horses and volunteering for FFA or 4-H in her spare time.

“Finding a career that combined my passions for agriculture, service and policy seemed impossible before I met our incredible regional managers during my internship,” said Mikel. “I could not be more eager for the opportunity to serve Farm Bureau members in my new role. I appreciate everyone who has gone out of their way to welcome me into the Farm Bureau family.”
