INFB is offering two early-bird sessions on March 9 including an Ag in the Classroom volunteer mini workshop and a bonus breakout session called “Let’s Get Connected.”

The conference itself opens with a dinner buffet on March 9 at 6 p.m. Friday’s keynote is Dr. Paige Pratt, doctor of animal sciences, a district administrator for Kansas Farm Bureau and co-owner of Johnson Farms LLC.

Also on Friday will be a screening of the movie Food Evolution with a panel discussion to follow. Food Evolution is a new film that depicts how easily misinformation, confusion and fear can overwhelm objective analysis, especially when it comes to food. The film is narrated by astrophysicist, author and science communicator Neil deGrasse Tyson.

On Saturday, the keynote is Michele Payn, CSP, advocate for global agriculture and author of Food Truths from Farm to Table.

Several breakout sessions will be offered through the two-day conference covering topics such as online fresh markets, connecting ag to poverty, obesity and food insecurity, social media 101, niche market roundtables and insurance 101.

Back by popular demand are the live and silent auctions, bingo, vendor showcase and presentations from INFB’s ACE (Agricultural Cultural Exchange) ambassadors.
