Matthew Chapman manages a 3300+ acre diversified grain operation, two swine finishing barns, a commercial trucking operation and a custom hay baling business in Springport, Indiana.
Chapman purchased the baling business from his father in 1999. The income generated from baling put him through college and allowed him to purchase his first 23 tillable acres.
Although hay baling is now a small portion of his portfolio, the relationships Chapman built through that business opened doors for him to rent the tillable acreage that currently makes up the majority of his operation.
Chapman’s wife, Brianna, owns and operates two retail floral shops. The two met as students in Purdue’s College of Agriculture, married in 2009 and have a two-year-old daughter, Grace.
