Northern Indiana farm delivers corny message about voting
Leininger Farms in Mishawaka is delivering a strong, bipartisan message with its 2012 corn maze. That message is “Vote.”
Incorporated into the maze is an educational component: 20 different learning stations with questions related to the formation of America’s government and the election. Each station also has presidential fun fact.
For the average person to complete the maze takes between 60 and 90 minutes.
Also offered is an activity called the “Smart Maize,” which works with iOS- or Android-powered, web-enabled smart phones and allows participants to choose from a list of quiz topics ranging from Star Wars to pop culture to Bible stories.
The maze is open to the public Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 4-8 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m-8 p.m., and Sundays noon-6 p.m. It will be open until 10 p.m. on Oct. 27 for flashlight tours. Group reservations are available seven days a week through Oct. 31.
