Young Farmer group hopes to pack 30,000 meals and help fight hunger

Farmers and farm families from around the state will help feed Indiana’s hungry this evening during the Indiana Farm Bureau Young Farmer Leadership Conference’s “Kids Against Hunger” volunteer activity.  Young farmers working in one-hour shifts hope to pack 30,000 nutritious meals during a three-hour period. Shifts begin at 8 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.

“Kids Against Hunger” is just one of the many fun, educational and family-oriented activities at IFB’s 2013 Young Farmer Leadership Conference, held this evening and tomorrow, Jan. 26, at the Marriott East Hotel, 7202 East 21st St. in Indianapolis.

More information about the IFB Young Farmer Leadership Conference can be found at http://www.infarmbureau.org/YFCONF/.
