Lugar essay finalists and winners

State winners

Andrea Ledgerwood of Angola, Prairie Heights Middle School, and Travis Koester of Wadesville, St. Wendel Catholic School, were named winners of the Lugar Essay Award, which is awarded each year to one Hoosier 8th-grade boy and girl. As state winners, Legerwood and Koester win an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. Shown with Ledgerwood are Isabella Chism, Indiana Farm Bureau 2nd vice president, and Sen. Richard Lugar.

 

Posing with Sen. Richard Lugar are Kyle Venditti of Crown Point, Taft Middle School, and Rachel Stoner of Valparaiso, Morgan Township Middle School. Venditti and Stoner were the finalists in the Lugar Essay Contest from Indiana Farm Bureau District 1.
