Copper wire theft protection programs to be announced
Media representatives are invited to attend a press conference that will present the details of programs started in response to local copper wire thefts from center-pivot irrigation systems.
The first program is the Griffin Area Irrigation Protection Program, which offers a $5,000 reward for information leading to a felony conviction for copper wire theft. Additionally, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance has started a theft deterrent device pilot program.

Speakers: Posey County Sheriff Greg Oeth; Bishop Mumford, a local farmer who has experienced copper wire theft; and Jim Rink, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance’s director of farm/crop/commercial/rural.
