New woman leader appointed for IFB District 6
Anne Smith of Wayne County has been appointed District 6 woman leader for Indiana Farm Bureau.
“Anne will definitely be an asset to District 6 and an asset to the Women’s Leadership Committee,” said Isabella Chism, IFB 2nd vice president. “She’s a hard worker with the heart to do the right thing.”
Smith and her husband, Max, live on corn and soybean farm in Wayne County near Hagerstown. Prior to her recent retirement, she had worked as an investigator for Child Protective Services and a case manager for a mental health agency.
She and her husband have two adult children: Michelle, a graphic designer in New York City, and Brent, a high school math and science teacher in the Winchester area; and three grandchildren.
Smith is very active in her church, including working with a group of 4th, 5th and 6th graders. She is a former Easter Seals board member. She and her husband had been active in Farm Bureau and in the Indiana Young Farmers before they both took off-farm jobs.
She enjoys gardening and helping on the farm during harvest.
IFB District 6 includes Delaware, Hamilton, Hancock, Henry, Madison, Marion, Randolph and Wayne counties
