Members honored for recruiting efforts
Indiana Farm Bureau members from across the state were honored during IFB’s annual convention for their efforts to promote membership in the organization.
The award for top membership solicitor went to Bob Geswein of Floyd County, who signed up 20 primary voting members in 2013. The top membership chairman was William Smith, also of Floyd County.
Other membership champions (individual Farm Bureau members who recruit six or more new voting members) are Martha Bergman, Franklin County; Dave Forgey, Cass County; Roger Hadley, Allen County; Gary Michel, Warrick County; Joan Schickel, Harrison County; Elsa Smith, Tipton County; and Jan Uhlmansiek, Dearborn County.
The convention was held last weekend in Fort Wayne. Indiana Farm Bureau is the state’s largest farm organization, with approximately 75,000 farmer members and 190,000 associate members.
