Two Hoosiers honored for service to Indiana agriculture

Indiana Farm Bureau President Don Villwock recognized two Hoosiers for special service to Farm Bureau and to Indiana agriculture during IFB’s annual convention.

The President’s Award for Outstanding Leadership went to Jerry Canada, who is retiring as executive vice president and CEO of Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, a position he’s held since 2002.

The President’s Distinguished Service Award went to Maurice Williamson, former executive director of the Purdue Ag Alumni Association, a position he held for 37 years until he retired in 1990, and former manager of the Pioneer Village at the Indiana State Fair.

The convention was held last weekend in Fort Wayne. Indiana Farm Bureau is the state’s largest farm organization, with approximately 75,000 farmer members and 190,000 associate members.
