Convention just days away
There are still a few days to pre-register for the 94th annual IFB state convention, the theme for which is “Engage.”
The most current schedule can be found on the convention website, www.infarmbureau.org/convention. A few schedule updates have occurred since the previous issue of The Hoosier Farmer:
- A breakout session on starting a retail agriculture venture has been broadened to include any small business. “Is Entrepreneurship for You?” will cover what to consider before jumping right into starting your own company. This session takes place on Friday, Dec. 7, from 10-11 a.m.
- “Cover Crops for Better Nutrient Recycling” runs from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7. This session will focus on soil health and strategies to select, establish and successfully manage cover crop species under common Midwest cropping systems.
- The session previously billed as covering arthritis that runs concurrently with the Saturday afternoon delegate session will feature the Indiana AgrAbility Project. The session will still cover arthritis but will also include information on migrant and seasonal labor, assistive technology and professional development.
The deadline for hotel rooms has passed. Parking is expected to be limited at the convention, which will be held at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis. Attendees should be prepared to park at White River State Park, Circle Centre Mall or other nearby parking lots.
IFB state convention runs Dec. 7 and 8. Visit the convention website for the latest information and to pre-register before Nov. 30. Registration will be available at the event for those who aren’t registered by Nov. 30.
