Budget

The biennial budget consume much of the time and attention of the General Assembly during 2013. We support maintaining adequate funding for those agencies and institutions such as Purdue University’s College of Agriculture, the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, the State Board of Animal Health, the Department of Environmental Management and the Department of Natural Resources and their programs that are critical to agricultural operations in the state. We also will support additional funding for the state’s food and livestock inspection programs. And we believe that – given the poor condition of local roads – the portion of the state police budget currently funded by gasoline tax revenues should be returned to the state’s general fund.
