Animal Agriculture

Indiana Farm Bureau assists Hoosier livestock producers with siting of new livestock facilities and also assists them with environmental compliance of their facilities.

Livestock & Animal Care Policy Advisory Group Report

Members of the Livestock & Animal Care Policy Advisory Group held their first 2014 meeting on June 30, to discuss issues impacting the Indiana livestock industry.

After self-introductions by the 10 members in attendance, the group spent time reviewing the 30 county policy submissions affecting their industry segment. The PAG felt the county policy submissions stood on their merit with no further refinements necessary. The balance of the day was spent discussing:

  • Animal disease traceability.
  • Local control.
  • Remote manure storage.
  • Livestock barn separation.
  • Trichomoniasis.
