
Mark Thornburg
Mark Thornburg, Indiana Farm Bureau director of legal affairs, began his Farm Bureau career in 1999 as an environmental attorney, helping Farm Bureau members find answers to agricultural-related legal issues.
As director of legal affairs, Mark oversees a wide variety of legal issues pertaining to county Farm Bureaus as well as the state organization.
Prior to coming to Farm Bureau, Mark worked with the Purdue Cooperative Extension Service for 18 years, part of the time as an extension educator. Most recently, he specialized in legal and policy analysis for extension, the Office of the State Chemist, and the Office of the Commissioner of Agriculture.
Mark received his bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from Purdue University and his master’s of business administration from Ball State. His law degree, which included a concentration in environmental law and policy, is from Valparaiso University. He has participated in the Indiana Agricultural Leadership Program Class 8.
Mark serves on the board of directors of the Indiana Agriculture Leadership Institute and is currently vice chairman. He and his wife, Julie, currently live in Zionsville with their son.
