
John Newsom
John Newsom joined Indiana Farm Bureau in 1996 to serve Farm Bureau members of Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall and St. Joseph counties as a regional manager.
After leaving the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served in Operation Desert Shield/Storm in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, John worked for Murphy Farms in North Carolina and for North Central Cooperative as a swine feed salesman.
He grew up in Columbus, Ind., on a seed stock hog and grain farm, and now resides in Plymouth, Ind., with his wife, Stacey, and their son.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture economics from Purdue University and is qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator.
John attends the Bremen Missionary Church and teaches the junior youth Sunday school class. John also volunteers his time to visit the local jail.
